No I understand completely what its saying it said both arms in or both arms out to prevent the triangle if you put one in and one out your chances are higher for the triangle to be executed. If you dont have control of at least one arm the triangle could be difficult for some. I saw Joe Pass play solo at Rick's Cafe Americain in Chicago, sitting at a table 10 feet from him. What no one has mentioned is his vicious sense of rhythm. It's not easy to play a solo instrument and convey a rock solid rhythmic pulse the way Joe did in every song he ever played. Listen again, and tap your foot. You won't believe it. His swing was every bit the quality of his improvisations (which are without peer). Miss him

From 1991-92, Gibson had an ES-175 Joe Pass signature model. The body was a little bit thinner than the standard ES-175, and the pickup, as you noted, was placed closer to the neck to better achieve the woody tone you get from the neck position. Phenominal musician.

Any Joe Pass experts out there know what model guitar this is? Looks like a one-pickup Gibson ES-175, but the pickup is right at the end of the fingerboard like on a Heritage. All 175's I've ever seen have a wide space between the fingerboard & the neck pickup. I would guess it is an unusual custom-made model.

Thanks, never saw this version before. I put together a CD for Xmas a couple years ago with his solo version of this on it. Both are great. Very different, of course. Guitar doesn't get better than Joe Pass.

Yep, but this song was released in 2000. Dis track was on the 4th album. And I've seened Boyz II Men perform in da miami arena when they first started, dem boyz really do sound like they do on record. The last time we heard any type of soul, rhythm, feeling, realness, lyrics, etc. was in 2003. Until 2004 is when R&B had lost it's soul, people like Akon, Ray J, and others butchered R&B. If the guys of today were to go back in time in the 70's,80's,90's, Early 2K(2000-2003) they would get killed.

Sorry about that, let me refrayse that. This was released in the early 2K which is 2000. The early 2K (2000-2003) was the last time we've heard & seened the last of R&B when it use to have it's soul. Until R&B lost it's soul, from the year 2004-present. It's sad that R&B is more dead than any genre out there today. It's not about talent no more, it's all about family breaking in family.

I would not call Missy simply a hip hop artist. If you listen to her beat, watch her vids and listen to her lyrics, she has an uncanny ability to tap into Black heritage. So much so, that it is reminiscent of old southern voodoo black. Now unless you have lived in the south like I have, that may sound weird. But like Haiti, West African and other cultural-religiosity with black flavor, she really brings that to life in her music. She hits on a heritage I don't think she is even aware of.

No, really...I'm not sure if we're on the same page here...YM doesn't play the upright...at all... I've seen YM play live. Amazing guitarrist etc., mostly technique-wise. This is Jazz...it's even beyond just having great technique. It's about feeling...improvisation. YM can solo really well on a rock bassline. Jazz is completely different, and in my opinion, Joe Pass kicks his ass. Anyway, with as much respect as I've for YM, u must be posting this just for fun. I have faith u know the truth.

Double bass - fretless, acoustic Guitar - fretted, electric Aside from this, the double bass requires much more finger strength for each not than the guitar. YM soloes with a pick. NHOP soloes with his right-hand fingers. This affects speed greatly. Double basses can't be 'picked'. I've tried it for fun. etc.
