I have a Curve but going to Diamond or Pro by HTC. I hear the OS 4.6 with Bold is better than previous OS's, but still not compatible with websites as much as diamond or Pro. Blackberry still cannot play Windows media Player links and that is pathetic since alot of sites support it.

Don't get an Instinct. You can't synch calendar and the web browser is not as good. Opera Mobile 9.5 is alot better than the Instinct browser. Also the touch flo is nice. Downfall with Diamond is no flash but does has 3.2mp, Only 4GB internal storage and poor battery life. But from what I hear the Instinct web browser is not as compatible with websites. I had a Sprint rep go to a specific site and click on a vieo that support windows media and it work great while did nit work with Instinct

Don't know. I know that the Cruise is not with any sort of providers right now. So you could get it and use it with any GSM provider, but so far no cell phone providers that I know of sell this phone even though the HTC site lists different providers as a place to purchase them.

I'm with you there. The only thing the iPhone has over the Omnia is design and ease of use (kinda the same thing, in a way. In my opinion, if you're primarily buying electronics for those reasons, you're making a mistake. The people that truly want the features won't be put off by a longer learning-curve and marginally inferior design and that's why the Omnia is the better smartphone.

But some of the most important features on a mobile phone were left out (MMS, Video call camera, memory expansion slot, stereo bluetooth, video recording, flash...) So in termes of functionality the Omnia is a lot better. The iphone is more like a toy, while the Omnia is a complete PDA for professionals and power users. I had k800i too, and had the same problem, decided to change and, at this moment I`m really happy with p1i (yet, I still use k800i sometimes). It`s a really good phone, maybe not the most beatifull one, but You get a lot of features in medium prized phone. It`s only missing GPS, check out Nokia`s E71 too.

Apparently you don't have enough experience using Windows Mobile platform. That's the reason why you say it's difficult to use. I bet you've used Symbian phones for many years so you don't need manual for using the symbian interface because you are already familiar with the platform. I've used the TyTN2 for 4 months now and it is easy to use. And if you don't like the standard WM interface, then download the PointUI interface for example.

Will the GPS work without the assistance of cell sites? Sony Ericsson's P1i A-GPS feature will not work on flight mode. It means that when using the GPS feature, it must connect to a cell site first to establish a GPS signal which will cost you since your using the cell site service instead of using the GPS service direclty.

well ipaq 214 is better than 114. the speed is the same on both device thanks to fast 624mhz processor, but ipaq 214 has more ram (128mb), also has beautiful 4" display which is vga as u can see(ipaq 110 has 3.5inch 320x240 screen).so my opinion is that this device (214) is best buy at the momment.

Ok, adrianglez474 i'll explicain to you. I didn't know that before someone explicained me it too. In fact, you can't beacause it's a porblem of type of CPU. The computers CPU are the group of processors named "X86". An ipaq, as other pda, is in a "ARM" processor type. So when you make the program, you will compile it for X86 or ARM. And, computer's programs are too big for the pocket pc, it can't lanch it. (I hoped I could make you understand that and I could speak correctly ^^)

My personal favourite is the Touch HD. I don't like the keyboard on the X1, and the screen is to small for my liking. But it's hard to choose a favourite, since they are pretty much the same! They are both produced by HTC and both comes equipped with Windows Mobile. The X1 however, comes with VM6.5 rather than HD's 6.1. But who cares, they both look, and feel the same. And better yet, WM7 is on the way! ;)

I personally love the Sony X1. The touch screen is VERY responsive... It's still easy to press all the icons, even thought the screen is recessed. The keyboard feels nice to type on. I can touch-type pretty damn fast, and there is some satisfying tactile feedback. In conclusion, I'd say the X1 is the best.

They do make their own user interfaces... Windows Mobile is just the operating system, and a lot of us really like it (including me), so they we probably not get rid of Windows Mobile.

I am very disappointed with the x1 because the touchscreen is not very good and I am very sure that in a year or two or even less is going to break but the god part is that they have the trackpad. You cant reply on the trackpad all the time. The HTC touch pro is also quite disappointing I wont say why because I have to go soon. Personally I prefer the HTC touch HD because I think that they really a great job. I tried all the times and I would rather buy the HTC touch HD

how's the key travel on the touch pro? i have an x1 and it's very easy to double tap on a key because it doesn't provide much feedback for a depressed key. and what about the prismic shape of each key? is it actually just for show? or is there some advantage to having that?

It does not have a CD drive but I definitely like it. It's super compact and fits on my bag. I tweaked it to XP and runs smoothly. It became my primary laptop for about 3 weeks because my stupid acer laptop git a problem on its dc board. I can say that Asus is so reliable and I even love typing on its small keyboard ^^

What you can do with it depends on the intelligence of the user. A smart, intelligent user can do a great deal with a 4Gb 701 (w/2Gb RAM). You can obviously do very little with it. Like I said before, its a simple question of intelligence.
