You know kinda surprised that so many faith no more fans are such Pattonlovers. Well, I mean I also like the guy. He is a really good vocalist and stuff. But not a friggin comment on Trey? The guitarist guy that played in Bungle and this album wrote nearly as much of the Mr Bungle music as Patton himself. He is just as brilliant but so much more underestimated.

Yeah bro, sorry for overreacting. I still have to disagree with you, though. I've been listening to FNM since the start. I think grabbing Patton for The Real Thing was the culmination of FNM sticking to their guns. I've seen them live three times, the best time was when I thought they stole the show with their energy from Metallica and G&R. I'm not saying the stuff after The Real Thing was bad... I'm just saying The Real Thing was perfect. Everything after was more Patton than FNM, IMO.

patton wrote the lyrics to the entire "real thing" album in 2 weeks, after he was sent the music. this mofo is beyond talented. he finally had some influence on later albums. thats why they suffered sales whyes. but he influenced MANY bands that you hear today. FnM, Mr Bungle, Phantomas (sucks), peeping tom, lovage and prolly a few more include Mr. patton. the guy is a genius.

You're fucking nuts. The Real Thing was far and away the perfect album. Not a bad song on it. Not even a sleeper on it. I listen to the cd and never skip a single song. There are bands in the rock hall of fame who never had an album as solid as The Real Thing.

Of course there's need for comparison. They use the same chords (I play guitar/bass). The only difference is System have their guitars tuned to Drop-C, rather than Drop-D (Ricochet).
