this is useful, if you have many bookmarks... besides, let's say you want to go to a website but there are many similar bookmarks on your bookmark folder or whatever... you type one word or something and all of them will appear there if you promoted them, along with your comments if you put any, making it easier to tell yourself what is the website you wanted to visit. =D It could also help others.

You should know that wiki means you can edit, and EVERYONE can see it... Having this so no one sees if you "promote" a site, is almost like having bookmarks... At least give people the option to see promoted sites... or use promoted sites as results, because otherwise, it's just lame...

Good question. Also had this "problem" but the solution is quite simple. You need to be logged in into your Google Account of course. You can't change search results that way without being logged in ;-) But there are problems with FF3. I can't see the icons there even I am logged in. But it works with IE7 and Chrome :o)

I like google book search and believe it is fair use. However, the thumbnail example is not exactly the same as what google does. Though end-users see a 'thumbnail' or 'transformation' of the book, google has copied the entire work to its personal servers. In the case of the thumbnails, only the transformation was stored on the engine's servers.

Gee I wonder what other website that we're all using, might this legal debate relate to. Especially since Google just bought it. The more fundamental problem is that the copyright laws of this and many other nations need to be changed since they're both anti-consumer and outdated business models. But tell that to corporations and their lawyers.

Some of the "Full Metal Jacket" footage was done at an RAF and Army base in England. The destroyed building footage where the soldiers are in combat was filmed near where I am from in Newham, East London. This was filmed at Beckton Gasworks (London Docklands area)which was due for demolition. The film which was released in 1987 I believe has this footage added to Iggy's track from 1972/73. The film is based on the book "The Short-Timers" by Gustav Hasford. As mentioned below, nice mix video.

Iggy had the initial mixing responsibility of the Raw Power sessions but apparently they only channeled to one speaker (and it wasn't Mono!). The first two Stooges albums 69/70 are now iconic in their influence and contain an energy similar to the MC5 that only Detroit could produce. This was two years before Bowie met Iggy. When Iggy was singing I wanna be your dog, Bo was talking to Major Tom. The Stooges live performances elsewhere on YouTube are all the footage that is known to exist.

Very good indeed...there was another interesting video that I happened to see sometime back, which talks about a new self learning algorithm that is a concept for advance machine learning. The algorithm is called Latent Metonymical Analysis and Indexing - LMai (just type in LMai in youtube). It was interesting to watch this video as it briefly explains some important concepts of AI and search, which google is trying hard.

I agree with both you and MasamuneJJ. Merrill IS very smart, he's trying to be humorous and his attempt backfires; thus, he appears arrogant, boorish, and flippant. This is what happens when an older lecturer (usually professors, and he said he's a former academic) tries to be a peer to a young audience. He presents as a kinder person in other videos when he's not trying so hard to be 'with-it.' Better still, check out his blog, "Other Side of Sunset" to get a fuller picture of him.

It has issues with city names and such... For instance, I live in a city called Edmonton, but every time I say Edmonton, it thinks I am saying Edmundson. I thought the app was supposed to use your location in the searches? If that was the case, then it should put a higher priority for your city name in searches (so if the sound is similar to Edmonton, it chooses that over Edmundson).
