Indeed, a notebook green with envy because all it can do is watch Youtube videos, write Office documents and maybe run Photoshop whilst a subnotebook one tenth of the price running Windows XP not only boots quicker, crashes less often but will play the likes of San Andreas, Morrowind, Sonic Adventure and Halo. I realise Halo has been ported to Mac OS. Not Halo Custom Edition though. I have plenty of experience with Macs; I use one every day and it is often so painful that out comes the Eee.

To answer some people: No, companies do not try and blame the customer and get him to pay, in some cases they might, yes, but in 99% of the cases they won't. Why? If people start spreading the news of bad support and such, they will eventually loose customers. It's in their best interest to help as much as they can. However, Dell is a perfect example of a company that might screw you over and have lousy support, but then again, Dell is loosing customers so: HA!

Windows has been doing system restore for quite some time...Also, I prefer that when my computer fail (as I know it will) that I know how and why, and how I can personally fix the thing, rather than taking it to self-proclaimed geniuses. Apple has spent far more money on advertising than windows, as well as riding the Vista fallout wave, and windows STILL commands a very large percentage of the computer market. I think your facts are a little out of whack. Microsoft doesn't build computers. You can not debate over that. They are a software company as far as the computer market is concerned. The most powerful computers are nowhere near as slow as anything in the consumer market, they are literally hundreds of times faster. Lets address these "issues": Compatibility: windows can run every video/audio/picture file a windows PC can. You just need half a brain. Function: Macs have award winning back-up...

at the risk of sounding terribly pedantic, it's not a centrino chipset - it's nivida; and doesn't have a dedicated graphics chip. Whilst the 9400 graphics is a massive upgrade over the previous intel one, it's integrated into the main controller and shares the main memory. If you want dedicated you need a MacBook Pro. With you on the firewire though. Otherwise, really enjoy the show! :)

well you get a computer that never reaches the full speed it's suppose to be able to reach, features that you can get online for free, the ability to act like a dick without even knowing what your talking about, a computer that's easier to hack into than a pc.(it's been proven). tbh, i bought the 15" MacBook Pro, but because it is a widescreen, and my old Dell was a 16:9, even the 15" looks huge. The 17" is like a T. Its what you're gonna use it for really. If you're going to leave it at home/office, 15" is fine, and its still fairly portable. But if you're carrying it to uni/ work, 13" should still be sound

Yeah, that review was exact! I just got the same one about a week ago when they had their black Friday $100 off sale, and I'm loving my first Mac! My battery with everything on at full lasts about 5 hours! A little hot in the upper right corner and the screen highly attracts fingerprints, but it's amazing considering I just upgraded from a 7-year-old refurbished Dell desktop! My favorite things so far on it are the trackpad and it's extreme portability. Lovin' OS X Leopard and iLife '08 too!

My Wife has a Vaio, nice computers, work very well if you dont want to spend that much money... nice to wwatch movies in, to connect to your tv with super video or HDMI. For working I have the Mac, Ive never gone back to Windows after I got my fist mac. I got this friend using a Powerbook G4 and installed Adobe Suite cs3(complete) with 60 harddrive and almost nothing on video... and works perfectly.... MAC really makes using what it has to 100%... Windows uses to much resources just for the OS

Just got my 2.4 ghz alu-Macbook and I'm really pleased with it. I was originally considering getting Macbook Pro because of it's bigger screen size, however thought against it because the Macbook (minus firewire, seperate graphics card, smaller screen) is pretty much the same spec. I believe the keyboard is the same size as the Macbook Pro, so that shouldn't make a difference. And if your worried about screen size you can always put the money you saved towards a nice monitor.

It's the mouse created by apple that use the bluetooth technology to be linked to the computer, so no other device but the mouse itself has to be near the computer to work. You can google it or see on the apple official site to see what really it is. Since I've never used a CD/DVD drive at the same time as a SD CARD slot, I don't see why only one usb port would be a problem. I love the way you say 'A PC'. Not all PC's are all that good either (are much cheaper though, ill give you that), but Macs generally are more capable. I wouldn't mind a Macbook air, especially seeing my family already has 4 computers , and an existing wireless network. So the DVD drive isn't all that important to me, and a lot of people now, but I can still use one when I need it. And I don't use many USBs. I wouldn't count on that article of yours, they should consider uses before hardware.

Plus If I do encounter a major problem because I screwed it up accidentaly then I don't really care because my home directory is a different hard disk. Wow! It's very amazing! I think my next computer with be a Mac... So, the Mac are the only computer who can run all of the currents OS on the same computer: Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista and GNU/Linux. Using a Mac this these four OS should be very nice... :)
