I just thought of something that may interest you. I listen to this really entertaining podcast called freedomainradio. The guy is a very good speaker, and he has a few videos on youtube too. Great stuff on economics, really eye opening. You would be amazed by how much of the 'generally accepted truths' that most people hold just fly in the face of evidence, reason and morality. The problem that Ron Paul is talking about is the manipulation of the capital free market because of huge monopolistic banking interests that collude with the government through their massive investment resources. To keep interest rates low, you need to print more money. And you have to increase the money supply *drastically* to keep interest rates this artificially low. What that does in the short term is create a mass of unwise investment that manifests itself as a bubble. Then you get massive oversupply because people aren't living in X amount of them, they're just flipping them. Bubble bursts due to overpricing and oversupply and the bottom falls out of it. The prices of houses were up a few years ago because interest rates were low and credit was easy to get. Therefore housing demand went up which caused housing prices to go up. The Fed cannot fix, no matter how much it devalues the dollar, the crash of stocks because all corporate gains are directly influenced by consumer demand. To your last question, not really. Capitalism allows for the gain and subsequent saving of capital by individuals and states in order for it to be used in times of crises. However, from theory to practice it is quite different, it largely depends on the individual's education on how to safely manage that capital. That capital can be money or commodities, which I would highly recommend buying because the dollar has been d-evaluating.

Not exactly, but we do need some cooperation among them, a la this press conference, to break the duopoly. Then we can inject reality into the public debate, and begin choosing what we want instead of what we don't want slightly less. But that will require voting reform too, soon; I favor "approval voting" but there are several types of voting reform which would allow real choices. There's also the damned voting machines to get rid of, too, obviously... plenty of work ahead!

I have JJCarbon, I have. I don't want Obama either (maybe I didn't make that clear). But I must reiterate, my vote means everything to me, and I will not throw it away to either. McCain and Obama are imperialistic. I can in NO way shape or form support that behavior, philosophy, view. I have to live with myself. Knowing that my vote was for either one of these 2, means they kill more innocent civilians why they spread "democracy", at least I know I didn't support them. I can sleep at night.

Think what a left congress would do with a hard left president and a sympethetic supreme court. No doubt, McCain is note the poster child of liberty; but neither is he a socialist totalitarian like Obama. Casting a vote which increases the chances of this happening is unacceptable, in my view. McCain was never my choice. It was always Ron Paul. McCain stands for nothing that Ron Paul stands for. So I cannot vote for McCain it would go against everything I believe in. My vote will be for Chuck Baldwin. I would never put myself in a position of compromise thus voting "lesser of two evils" I vote values. Peace

And the only way to do that, right now and in this critical election, is to not allow Obama into the presidency.
