the sad thing is the the viper arc w/ hardcore package beat it w/ a 7m22.1 but the thing is that if you do that to a car it's not wat it is. if you want a race car build it dot the dodge do it for u. i think ths hard core pack is stupid. Yes, and yes, it's a road legal production car, at least in the UK. I really doubt Germany would let that beast on the road. I really wish Caparo would send their T1 on this track. I guess it would absolutely dwarf all the other times (if the floor doesn't fall off, the engine doesn't start to burn, ...)

I agree.But art and design are different.This has a purpose.Design always goes way beyond feaseability, it's meant to incite progress, test new ideas and give a glimpse of the future.However this doesn't mean that this technology wont be used in the future(perhaps even near future).I was just saying that,like most concepts, we wont be seeing anything like this on the streets anytime soon, specially something this bold. It's true that art still played a major role in this concept

I got a 2008 I LOVE IT!!! I think it is so worth it. It handles great it is truely an amazing car. Sadly dodge only made 6400 of 2008 models and i got 1760 out of the 6400. But the 2009 models dont have some of the same things the 2008 have and the 2009 wont have has much power but is still so worth it.

no worries, no damper on the mood: 911 turbo faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile than gtr. and better brakes (july issue car and drive). granted the gtr can lap the ring faster - I guess the gtr owner can always tell this to the 911 turbo owner after he beats him off the line at a light.

Care to share where you got those times and how are they official? From what I know, the ZR1 time hasn't been confirmed and the GTR V-Spec doesn't even exist officially! I'd still take the Porsche any day, it's sleek and low like a sportscar should be, not like an overdesigned shoebox (GTR). The ZR1 does look good though...

Well that's a fair opinion. But I'm not taking about a 'tuned car'. I'm talking about what you get straight out of the box. I agree that this civic is comfortable and it does look awesome, but that's not what type-R's are all about. They're about performance and handingling first and formost. To say it's faster than the previous european designed EP3isn't really fair either because each new generation is faster than the previous. I'm talking about feel and handling.

Yes this type-r is quite a disappointment from previous models. I've gotten the priviledge to try every type-r except the new sedan and last generation NSX-R. I must say this car does rather suck. The based it off of the honda Jazz, (Fit in Canada) platform which was a huge mistake. It doesn't really do anything all that spectacular. My favorite is still the DC2. It's jus the best overhall handling package and so very reliable as long as you don't dramatically mess with it or turbo it.

What they are saying is kinda conflicting...Originally type-R is not meant to be comfortable, but sportive only... unfortunately the market demands comfort. This FN2 is no longer a real R in my opinion. The best R's are still the first gen R's = NSX-R, EK9, DC2.

GTR35 owners is going to replace those tires after this race, what a hog of a car...3800lb! The amazing part for me is how the Japanese engineers got it right to get this hog to perform on the track, computer geeks! Comparisons between the GTR and a Caterham is nuts. I've been in Atom's (300s) and Caterhams, and they are nothing like the experience of being in a 'car'. Don't get me wrong, I buzzed for three weeks after doing 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and going around corners at warp speed, but you just cannot compare the two. I've driven a Lotus and it was comfortable but that was because I was at Silverstone. On the road I have no doubt that they are a pain in the arse (literally) as a daily drive.
