Very interesting and beautiful, I've to say. It's logical that not everyone is in the mood to listen to dark ambient, so they say it sucks. Personally I'm always in the mood for every kind of music. Indeed, when I'll finish to listen to this, I'll listen to Nile, then to Depeche Mode, then to Dillinger Escape Plan and then maybe I'll even try Bonedust, who knows!!! This song is incredible, it's both soothing and scary!!! But I don't feel depressed at all. Music never makes me feel depressed.

The whole set up looks so sterile and contrived. Its not really a live performance in front of a crowd. You can sense a lack of spontaneity but I can assure you that this band (now with McCaslin on sax) is smoking hot. i agree again, the solo feels incomplete, but im not sure its intirely the players fault.....i feel there is a lack of responce from the rhythm section...if that makes sence? it may be because of the t.v broadcasting restraints....but however well them bassist and drummer conect, they still need to feel how the music is developing in solo sections, and i dont realy feel they enhance the solo....please shoot me down if you think im completely wrong...

omg my eyes are flashing after watching that...i think the use of effects needs to tone down a little. maybe only use certain effects to emphasize the importance of certain scenes. otherwise all of it looks the same and as a viewer i'd lose interest seeing the same effects.

She's not off key, she's just bending her notes (also known as blue notes)and singing a lot of minor, augmented,and diminished intervals in the scale (not typical western scale). similar to what you hear in jazz. This actually shows that she has an amazing ear because most singers cannot do this! Jazz instrumentalists (ex. John Coltrane) play outside the scale all the time, just rare to hear the human voice imitate. So to the normal ear, this sounds off. Love u Amel!!

amel is so wonderful live. we saw her in seattle at jazz alley a few months back. she sing her whole heart out til she can't sing anymore!! at the end of her show she's just so tired she can barely go on, but she does and she does it for us!!! i took two of my daughter's age 12 and 3 who are amel junkies. she was so gracious, and signed both of the cd's we bought for the girls and let them take pics!!!! amel is the real deal.
