okay. somewhat more confusing. your are doing this on the fly. you should set it up first. still good stuff though. isn't it true though that the original mortgage owners (house buyers) still make their payments to the original bank and they just funnel the money along? still sitting here laughing. you know, the risk is passed along until some british, irish or east german banks get stuck with the "hot potato". it's their own damn fault. this capitalism, thank god.

What is that special purpose entity ? If its a corp isnt it owned by the shareholders and needs a more stable continues income than a 10 year mortgage interest payments, and why wouldnt the investment bank sell those shares themselves ?, a well established bank has a better reputation than a new corp that might be considered to be selling risky junk bonds due to its "new"ness, sorry if i ask silly question, i am only starting my 2nd year in finances

Now, not only the default make the problem worst, the asset(house) value went down, eg. 20% of 1b defaulted = 200m worth of asset, the owner r not able to make payment, the bank took their asset and put in on auction, guess what, if the asset value now drop to just 50%, the bank can only recover 100m, ie, it loses not only the interest of 200mx10%, 20m per yr, also the capital is reduced by 100m.

Good work. Minor comment: with a 20% default rate and 50% recovery that is 10% of the principal gone (not 10% of the interest). It actually wipes out the interest element completely.

Nonetheless, the best solution to avoid over drafts is to take out the money you will need for the week and avoid using your debt card. If you make check document and keep tabs on your account using there online service. Using the debit card in order to buy low priced items should be avoided because this is how they fuck by not charging the small items right away in order to fuck you with over drafts fees. a 2 dollar snack will cost you 37 dollars if you do not keep on your account.

Last month I was overdrawn and didn't know it. I was going around town charging with my debit card. It wasn't until six days later all the notices started coming in the mail. I was charged $23 for every charge I had made. A total of 15. I went to the bank and asked them if they could make it where I can not charge if I am overdrawn. They said no, but we do have overdraft protect that only cost $10 per charge to take it out of my savings. It was my fault! But WF wants to charge the fees.
