this is a grate video but has everyone forgot about the mississippi coast we were fighting for our lives with 20 to 30 foot waves with the force of a freght train trying to rip us from any tree we could hang on and not sucked out to the gulf.watching family members get swept out was the most horrible feeling when you could not do anything but try to hang on for dear life. im so glad the ms coast and N.O. got spared by Gustav but we have to be ready for IKE.

Saw Marcia do this song at the R&R Festival just days after the storm. Hugh crowd, outdoors, late afternoon, and yet a stunned silence...except for the occassional sob. sorry to disagree with most previous comments, but it's bland. Nice enough for a 'pub' singer (indeed I'd be glad to hear her in this kind of environment), but so far removed from the original it's a tad excruciating. I was there! It was horriable we spend 5 days there and only the parish helped their own people get out with boats and people where brought to schools, banks, prisions, anywhere from high water. When Katrina was posted on the news they only spoke of New Orleans damages. They forgot about St. Bernard Parish was damaged 100% under water. the Parish provided food the best they could for our people, then later we had to walk threw water to get to St. Benard Hwy to catch a truck to the ferry.

I inspect houses in the entire New Orleans area and have done so for 10 years. The people that stayed knew the storm had passed, but had no idea the levee had broken and water was coming their way. In their area, the storm had just about passed, the wind was still blowing, but the rain had practically stopped when the water started coming down the street into the neighborhoods. I hope all involved get their lives together soon.

This was terrible for those who stayed & those who left to return to the devastation. I'm a local guy who had family members who lost homes in MS & LA & the eye passed over my parent's home. It is important to note that there were failings on every level: local, state and Federal. The Feds have done the most to contribute. Mayor Nagin has been MIA & useless. Governor Blanco pretty much completely broke down and let down the state in the aftermath and initially refused Fed help that was offered.

The storm was a 3 when it hit us, nobody thought it would be like it was. the worst part was the aftermath no food or water for weeks. I lost my home, waiting in lines for food, gas for hours on end. I think that was the worst part. Now gustava and ike we need a break
