When they install the truss rod, they route out the stripe in the back for the truss rod, and fill it in with rosewood, or back in the day; with koa. But nowadays its easier and better to route out the channel under the fingerboard.

generally telecasters permit less mistakes, by this i mean that if you don't hit a note correctly it will show that much more than say with a les paul. Beginners (like me ) may find this hard but generally it makes a guitar player better. I mean if you can play a tune on a tele correctly you can play it on any guitar :D

No, I guess it´s a V-profile on the neck of the Baja. Main difference is the S1 switch, as fmiller747 said. Combined with the 4-way PU Selector, you get 6 different sounds from it.

1. You're an idiot. It has PLENTY to do with the Custom Shop, how about you do some research before spouting off this drivel? It is designed by Chris Fleming, a Master Builder of the Custom Shop. It has Custom Shop pickups (Broadcaster and Twisted Tele) and a "Custom Shop Designed" Neckplate.

The playing didn't exactly show off the twang the Tele is known for, or maybe the Baja just doesn't have that. If it was made in Mexico, there's no way it had ANYTHING to do with the Fender custom shop either, not that there's anything wrong with a Mexicanmade Tele. The guitar does sound pretty good, nice, full tone. You can make a Tele sound like a lot of things, but you can't make anything sound like a Tele.

I was looking for a Tele half a year ago and checked out the Highway One, The Baja introduced here, the American Standard and a Japanese Tele. The Baja is best value for money and combines authenticity, vintage sound and the flexibility you can hear in this video. The vintage bridge gives it the typical Tele-twang sound. But it is a really heavy guitar and the neck is not very fast - 50ies style... All in all a great guitar for a good price!

I tried several of them and they're o.k. but they don't get that shimmery clean like BF Fenders IMO. The NOS version however is pretty damn good, I'd look at those if you want a Blues Jr. Never used them with pedals however, I wish I knew how to wire reverb to a Vibro champ, that'd be pretty cool.

That's a good question?? I look like one of those cymbal pics made out of copper but I could be wrong. If it is a metal pick, that would be giving his tone, again, a more acoustic ringing tone (which is what his tone has). This guy sounds fantastic, I mean I wish I could play like EVH or the guy from Tool but when I hear such harmonic brilliance and simplicity I just think why bother? Ronnie Earl is one of my favorites and this guys sounds like a tele version of Earl!

Thanks. Yes, I'm deciding between the Blues Jr. and the Princeton. Tough choice, but wish there was a little 5W Princeton with reverb. I don't get that tingle when thinking of either of these. You know, the feeling that something is perfect for your needs.

The main reason for the neck humbucker being what is called a wide range humbucker to give more low end bite and balance for rhythm playing. This pick up which was originally used in the early 70's by Fender to combat the sales of Gibson's gives more low end than the original tele single coil neck pick ups.

it doesnt sound like a humbucker exactly so i would recommend switching it for a real humbucker these pickups sound a bit weak i would just recommend a strat probably because you could get a mexican strat for around $400 and get a seymour duncan everything axe set for 200 adding up to around the price of the guitar in the video so i would just get a strat and make some mods to it

Kitschead, all of the keyboard and cabinet variations will be available in black, red, and white color casings, which are made of hard plastic like the final Rhodes model (the Mark V), which was produced in the final year, before the company shut down in 1984. The Five was the lightest Rhodes model, at 100 lbs; I'm guessing that these will weigh in similarly. The speaker cabinets are constructed of wood, like other amplifier cabinets.

In fact, he owns one of only three Mark Vs in existence with midi capabilities. Rhodes built three prototypes in 1984 before the company went out of business and the use of the name was sold to Roland in 1987, which made synthesized versions--not the real McCoy.

I think the main difference sonically between the models is in the harp, I guess you could switch it with an old one to get more bark and bite.

Oh, ok. fair enough, it is a bit too strict feel wise. Some of the the mark fives are also quite bell like in sound, Im hoping that you can adjust it a little to get a nice breakup point in the tines or action, or if it comes to then I will just put a tube overdrive on it occasionally.

Sure it's a new Rhodes and the action is great but it sounds cheap and bell like. Compare it to an old MK1 suitcase and it's like chalk and cheese. Anyway I was referring to the 'Groove' as sounding like midi, sounds like Kenny G.

Hi David. A little fun story regarding your video about difference in us/mex strat. I have 9 stratocasters. Let me tell you about two of them. One is a PERFECT crafted Jeff Beck sign. US 2003,in absolute mint condition.The other one is a squier stratocaster MEX 1993,,,,,and the squier is MUCH better. It feels right, it sounds right, its a GREAT guitar. The Jeff is more "Architectlike", no soul, no warmth, but perfect made. -So,,,there you are.

price is definitely a factor, but it really all depends if it feels good, and sounds good to you. I am a big fan of MIM Telecasters, they are actually made very well and sound amazing.

The Mexican made Strat feels so flimsy. It's the first guitar I tried. At first I thought it was nice, but then I tried a Schecter and wow. So much better. I ended up getting a Hellraiser C-1 FR, but I also tried the ones at the price range of the MexiStrat. Schecter's I think are so much better made. So having said that, I think any Schecter that is the same price as the MexiStrat will sound and feel better.
