If that "look up 0 Celsius" was to the guy who asked if these could be created at that temperature, maybe you should look it up yourself. 0 C is the freezing point of water, aka 273 K or 32 F. It's a very common temperature. And no, no superconductors have been found that exist at such a high (relatively) temperature. But superconductivity is not fully understood, and we have gradually found higher and higher temperature superconductors, so it may be possible.

You need the superconductor doing it's job in normal temperatures, then this will be of any practical use. Also this experiment is pretty dangerous, the frost-bite from the liquid nitrogen is very likely if you are not careful enough.

How can a ufo possibly be using this same effect. For a ufo to levitate magnetically, the earth would need to had somehow obtained superconducting properties to allow the ufo to suspend in the air at a fixed distance. Duh... GREAT VIDEO!!! you helped me so much with my school physics presentation. Let me just add, the guy gave a demo of the so called effect before actually stating the name of the effect.

hey man. for informations about this, you would have to learn about superconductivity, wich is a caracteristic on certain materials that, in low temperatures, put up like a magnet. ok? with the liquid nitrogen, you can make this type of materials turn into superconductors, that exhibit this phenomenon. you should read about this on wiki, or even google. keywords: superconductors, magnetic levitation (maglev), meissner effect.
