Anthony Hopkins is a brillant actor, but - I must confes, that I have never scene the whole movie - in this scene he spekas with a totally wrong accent. He speaks English with a strong German accent, but Hitler was Austrian and in fact even I as a German have great problems to understand old original speeches and audiovisual documentations. Hitler did not speak like this... Perhaps he was so succesfull because we could not understand him ;-)

Speer was someone who was involved in the Nazi inner circle but probably not a devotee of the weird Nazi ideology. For many germans, the Nazi party was a way of getting ahead. Hitler was probably attracted to Speer's role as an architect, since Hitler's own dreams of being an artist had been dashed as a youth. The best part of this movie is Hopkins completely copied Hitler's personal mannerisms. he was erratic and didnt have conversations, he just gave long speeches.

Agreed, not everything WAS satire.. but this is. Archie represents (here and elsewhere) the close minded, bigoted, short sighted 'every man' that tries to lay blame for his problems on the other guy. While the character was satire, not everything Lear or O'Connor wrote for Archie was meant as satire. The show was better written. It wasn't just blatant conservative bashing. That was the magic. Lear and O'Connor even gave Archie's commentary *they* agreed with. They wanted the audience to agree with him too sometimes. The live audience agreed with Archie on this one for example. It was a populist rant. My family still uses "pournt", or "our" sound for anything with "oi".

Why aren't bank tellers armed ? Schools and colleges should have guns and allow designated officials access to them while on duty. Sammy Davis was a GREAT fan of the show! He BEGGED Norman Lear for a guest spot on the show and had the story idea! This is the show of shows! Perfectly written. Archie was America's favorite biggot! NORAD still needs all submarines clocks to be syncronized to Norad atomic clock..Atomic submarine's atomic clock. Can be powered and energized by a solar clock but doesn't use sun power but only by laser light which is absorbed in clock's solar panel cells or photo voltaic cells which absorb laser light, converts it to electrical power then sends it to it's atomic submarine clock.The reason to use this.
