Where the GOLD AT! Ive been thinking about getting some Maple Leaf Gold coins. I wish I would have bought some a week ago when it was down at 700, but its back up to 800 again, but still good because thats what it was at last November of 07. I think people bought like crazy when it crashed and thats why it shot up so fast in a week... I figure after this big jump, it will slowly fall again but make its usual steady climb again after the economy crisis.

well, ivan, you wonder why we really went to war in Iraq... it was not for WMDs... it was not for terrorists... it was not because daddy Bush couldn't get Saddam so the son did... it's because in 2000, Saddam was ahead of the curve and tried to sell his oil in another currency other than the USD... Now, Saddam was a ruthless dictator.... I'm not supporting him, but this conflict in Iraq is an economic war... showing if you fuck with the USD, then we destroy you...

Not looking like it at the moment but perhaps 2 or 3 years down the line, it probably will be around that level. A lot of this depends on whether western govts. (particularly the US) outlaw gold ownership. The US govt, no matter which wing of the Business Party is in power, does not want anything threatening US dollar hegemony. I'm sure many of the Eurozone countries feel the same about gold and the Euro or gold and the Pound. This is what scares me as about 1/6 of my assets is in gold.

We need not work hard anymore. Technology is advanced far beyond enough to do most work. School, Medicare, Housing and legal needs will all be free. if the american economy crashes the whole world will adopt a new system where possasion will be outlawed by the common people. then u can take anything not being used for youself walk into stores everything will be free cars, homes unless it is being used. I agree. This is a social science, its about people. So irrational events will happen. My point is that economic data is a factor, you can't deny that (EMPLOYMENT SITUATION?). Also you have to remember market rallies arent started my mom and dad, or the average "long term" investor. In this market if your not trading (short obviously, so i like your name) your dead in the water.

good news and bad news doesn't always impact market prices the way it should. there are days that are flooded with bad news but the market just keeps going up for no reason...

i wish they did make everybody believe that the market's gonna collapse, dumbass! go do some homework before speaking like you know anything if at all. go find out about the fed; go find out how the public companies are really doing; go find out the how bear sterns became $9. go look at those banks' stock price compare to maybe just half a year ago.
