I know Akira can do way better than this, he sounds uninspired and burnt out. He composed incredibly composed melodic solos on the 80's Loudness songs. Too much effects, and it would've sounded better if he had a track with a nice chord progression to solo over.

Possibly the greatest shredder ever, but I just can't get into the music. Eddie Van Halen is my #1 because he's more than just a shredder: awesome riffs, awesome tone, awesome songwriting and he knows when to hold back and when to play fast. Not taking away from this guy's skills, though. Clearly, he's practiced his ass off. I doubt even Satriani or Malmsteen could touch the dude.
