Thats a matter of opinion. In the UK in cloud we maintain separation by talking to each other on the same frequency. It requires skill and concentration but its very satisfying, lots of fun and safe if it is done correctly.

Yes he is pulling -G's. They are quite hard and uncomfortable to deal with, and if overstressed or untrained around them they can cause permanent damage to the eyes and brain. These gliders are limited to about -5G & +9G though the pilots determine their own limits which are generally quite lower.

Saw them live on the Hate tour, incredible. Pisses me off that so many wank indie bands are doing so well and this band, a truly great band in any era IMO, get no recognition whatsoever. No, I don't think any Hang Gliding instructor would recommend a Sport-2 as your very first glider. A Falcon is a much better glider to begin with. An intermediate glider will slow down your learning a lot, things happen so fast you can't work out what you're doing wrong. A Falcon, on the other hand will give you time to see the effects of your piloting and improve. Think of a new skier trying the blue slopes first time out - they may get down the mountain eventually, but it won't be any fun.

Much of hang gliding advancement is psychological willingness and readiness to go higher and longer...fear can limit you when you do not even recognize how much so.
