anyone 50 years old should know running on pavement in polluted heat of the city is something waiting to happen, at least you give the paramedics some extra work, man made pavement it is unnatural, thats why runner shoes cost so much to absorb the shock that your body will feel later on in life

our prayers go out to the family of the runner that sadly passed away. this was to be my hubby's first marathon (at the age of 51!) i secretly planned to pace him in at mile 20 (archer-chinatown) marker and bought my own bib and picked up my packet with his at the expo last friday....his 15K Pace 12:41, Half Pace 13:16, TIME Chip Time: Clock: Pace: 13:45. maybe next year?

thank you to the volunteers, fire and ambulance and the spectators who helped out and supplied me/us with their own water and gatorade...as for this video...it is kinda propaganda...it must have been put together by the race organizors..they make it seem like there was plenty of fluids on the course and that it was well organized...anyone who ran it knows the reality...you had to fight to get a cup, let alone something to put in it...it was a war zone out there

aahhh i remember the uncontolled muscle spasms like it was yesterday..... oh wait it was yesterday.... during this marathon i drank a beer in public in front of a cop in the first 6 miles and then swore at one at mile 26 for telling me to walk. "Its not over till we say its over!"

Th 2008 Original Mountain Marathon or OMM was "a bit rainy." Here is how it looked from a competitor's viewpoint. We did the B course, completing it by 2.30pm. We then walked back to our car, and got out of the Lakes which seemed to be sinking.

Good on you lads,wind ,rain,sleet or snow.get and do it , thats half the fun..i must admit I dont fancy running in that weather any more but im still on the hills in all weathers,but this time at a walking pace,with the intention of being out for longer periods,so it rains a little and may be a slight breeze,or a little chilly,Thats the point of being there. well done ,and sod the Media.
