They should have used two identical motherboards, one with IB turned on, and one with IB turned off. but it doesn't matter because it's just standby anyay.
By: the4ork. on 01 Jan 09, 01:07:47
its not BS its similar to what laptops use (sleep or hibernate) but the difference is the system is completely shut off! not a fan, hard drive or anything running. it almost takes longer for my hard drive to spin up than it takes for it to boot. hit the button, hard drive spins up, 3 or 4 seconds later im fully in windows. its a little buggy on some things but overall i hope they incorporate this into the next version of windows or something. it still restarts like normal tho

Boots up faster, which compared to other systems, takes up over 9000 seconds to initialise...
By: Buzardero. on 31 Dec 08, 00:12:59
Ok... i hope you enjoy your 46 seconds more of life.
By: lespaulzrule. on 30 Dec 08, 22:36:50
This Instant Boot software is BS, you can make any machine load up in a blink of an eye, it's called putting your system to "sleep" instead of shutting down completely!!! I have an AsRock mobo and what makes this even worse is that my board is supposed to support this Instant Boot thing, but when I install it, and then goto shutdown it sticks on the AsRock Instant Boot screen, and doesn't do anything! I will just continue to use the Sleep function of Vista as it does the same thing pretty much!

I am a proud owner of an ASRock mobo (A780GXE). This is one of the simplest features I've seen with a motherboard... all it does is reboots the PC, and puts it in S3 Sleep(Fast) or S4 Hibernate(Slow) once it boots. I like it because I can hit my power button, go to work, and come back home to a fresh boot in a matter of seconds.

By: sylentmyst. on 21 Dec 08, 18:10:36
I use my PC every day for most of the day, I almost never turn my PC off either because I dont want to wait for it to shut down and then boot up in the morning. so it's not all bs. Plus it just makes life a tad easier if you walk away for awhile.
By: vladk2k. on 20 Dec 08, 20:40:18
I think that "Fast mode" is ye olde STR (Suspend to RAM) and "Normal mode" is the Hibernate feature in Windows. So how is that different? Please let me know ASRock
By: Buzardero. on 20 Dec 08, 04:12:45
OMG! Im not going to lose 46 seconds of my life anymore!!... lol... how 46 seconds is "a long time" ? so everybody doesnt shuts down the pc because they have to wait 46 seconds to boot up?... thats all bs.
By: awqad. on 17 Dec 08, 02:24:03
most recent mb have this function. nothing new in this at all > you've only to enable s3 enable in ur bios as there's some mbs bios not enabling this in their default settings in one word they're cheating more than applying new science>relating the power button to the program is not a miracle!
