no, you could be !! like its not impossible if you sit down a few hours a day, work on scales and technique like slapping, plucking, tapping etc., play along with cd's or drum tracks, learn from other peoples techniques and play at every opportunity, like when watchin tv !! jus remember he didn start off as a virtuoso, chances are he srtarted off with basic groves and walking lines and over years of hard work and lessons built a title ! jus keep workin hard man and you never know

I merely said that we as bassists DO hold the band up, if theres no bassist, theres a keyboardist, its one or the other, or sometimes both, and i agree, root note players are boring, but sometimes super technical John Myung and Billy Sheehan playing is unnecessary, i'd rather be known for being a good solid bassist who had the occasional solo rather than the flashiest guy who couldnt hold a simple acoustic song together because it was "super tech bass" or nothing. but Billy was a mixture of both

both very overrated bassists IMO flea is decent but it's pretty ridiculous how people make him out to be the "best slap bassist" or whatever else. and all sheehan can really do well, as he does in this video, is repeating the same musical phrases and wanking off to the same scales extremely fast. but i guess he's got some monster chops, so for that he sortof has my respect.

Sorry but you're way off base and very lacking in historical knowledge of R&R. King and Guy are Blues players. R&R is a direct off chute of the Blues with many of the Blues Players of the 40's and 50's playing what would later be called R&R when popularized by by Whites. King has had hit records. Elvis was one of the first White singers of R&R and sold millions of records. Elvis not R&R? You'd better stop and read up on R&R history before you post any more.

You put the string all the way down on the fret you want like normal. Then rest your thumb half way or 3/4 of the way down the shortened string, then pluck with your index finger. It's the same concept as normal harmonics, just with a shorter string.

Just to clear it up if anyone was wondering, the effects hes using is 1. Envelope Filter, and 2. Fuzz. Not sure of the EXACT models but Boss and Digitech make good envelope filters, not too sure about people who make good Fuzz pedals, a good fuzz pedal is hard to find...
