I transcribed both Stanley and Mike solos but I did not pay attention how long it took. I'd guess a bit less than an hour for the 2 solos but I'm not sure
By: confoozled3737. on 16 Oct 08, 04:27:31
How long did that take you?
By: me007963. on 21 Sep 08, 14:33:38
yeah, sounds tinnier than he usually does, like he was miked from behind or to the side or something, shame. awesome playing though
By: ParokyaSaCantol. on 21 Sep 08, 04:04:22

By: lou2cv. on 16 Sep 08, 12:50:01
I just transcribed Mike Brecker's solo, it's really interesting to see what progressions he plays in his "out" phrases.
By: Eyemayorist. on 13 Sep 08, 00:44:34
huh? WTH happened!?!?!?
By: lou2cv. on 12 Sep 08, 09:34:38
I don't like his playing too but I don't consider he's bad. I'm just not used to this king of playing, but he sure is great, just not my cup of tea
By: lou2cv. on 11 Sep 08, 19:03:23
I don't understand , sound is great here
By: Pickpocket86. on 24 Aug 08, 22:16:59
I think you just don't Understand what he is doing musically... because if you did you would not say that "he sucks" and if he wasnt musical than I doubt he would be where he is the jazz today.....He is not a free jazz artist he plays Jazz
By: invisiblekid14. on 24 Aug 08, 14:23:32
just because he's a badass, doesn't make him good musically . . . he's just playing a bunch of notes that don't mean shit in the creative musical underground . . . and yeah, his pinky probably has accomplished more than i ever will, but what's that really got to do with creative music?
By: Pickpocket86. on 23 Aug 08, 04:18:11
You are a retard..... Ernies Badass ... His pinky has accomplished more than you will in your life
By: Pickpocket86. on 23 Aug 08, 04:15:25
What are you TAlking about "Eb and FLow Eb and FLow"
By: elimenohpee182. on 09 Aug 08, 05:23:14
Man the sound engineers screwed up, that totally doesn't sound like Michael Brecker. This group is killing though.
By: sowens3. on 06 Aug 08, 06:27:28
Grolnick sure can write a killin tune.
By: shareteddy. on 17 Jul 08, 22:49:29
Eb and flow eb and flow this is how music is played and this if the true essence of how you will feel when it is rockin will miss Stanley 'T. and Brecker man can they play
By: nyshoefly. on 06 Jun 08, 07:35:29
wankfest....lol
By: invisiblekid14. on 26 May 08, 20:59:27
ut ernie sucks, there's no music in his playing, just a bunch of notes, a wankfest.
By: altosaxbeboper09. on 23 May 08, 21:45:49
saxophonia- i think that they admire his style of playing and are just gathering information to improve. The condescencion is not nessecary. Sorry to everyone this is a great song and i look forward to transcribing this one
By: n2frot123. on 22 May 08, 17:24:58
This is the second half of the tune. Ernie's solo is in the first half. (Check out the other Four Sleepers Pools videos)
By: sideshowjer. on 19 May 08, 16:24:29
What record? No bs; this is great!
By: SpotOnMusic1. on 15 May 08, 22:06:13
Damn !! I have this record for over 10 years, and now I see the footage !! WOW Thanks so much - And it's rare to see Don Grolnick (one of the most underrated composers and pianists of all times + composer of Pools)
By: lou2cv. on 11 May 08, 08:41:39
And I'd add in Stanley Turrentine solo, he did not play "out", but this is still jazz...
By: lou2cv. on 11 May 08, 08:40:04
I know what is jazz improv ^^ But all players who really play "out" do it with a different way. And I personnaly like how Brecker do it, it does not sound like the other players
By: Blastbeat420. on 11 May 08, 02:32:23
thats a characteristic of jazz improvisation
By: shareteddy. on 06 May 08, 05:08:19
