Well they both are great singer and have beautiful voices she sung it her own way i dont fill it was overdid at all thats christina, she has her own way of singing it and beyonce sung it traditional for the movie.

All of you bitchin' about how she shouldn't sing old songs like this.. watch her performance of I Love You Porgy. Amazing. Controlled, and not over done. This was a concert. When a performer is doin' a concert they always do stuff like (over doing, adding extra, changing it up) to make their fans enjoy it more. Had this been like a tribute performance to Etta, she would have toned it down and sung it the way you'd all want it, however I guarentee she'd still add some Christina vibe to it.

Christina butchered this song in this rendition. She has an unparalleled voice and didn't need to sing it like the way she did to show off her vocal chops. Some songs have more strength by simply having it sung. The beauty of the original song was that it was like a smooth, luscious velvet ribbon, you could hear the emotion, sultriness and romance. Christina's version unfortunately had the vocal prowess but lacked real emotion, the performance was merely a display of vocal gymnastics.

Christina Aguilera does have an amazing voice. But this song is over done. this is a classic meant to convey feeling and emotion. Not to show off your vibrato skills which she does have.

understand music. The fact that Christina is a powerhouse is undeniable, however she tends to lack conrtol with her rendition of this classic, Etta James herself praised beyonce herself for her rendition, and portrayal. But a quick lesson in music showing a lenghty vocabulary vocally if that makes sense, at last was a song that people made love to christinas rendition is too harsh. I'm guessing your a christina fan, thats cool, I'm just telling the truth.
