So what is this thing ment to do? Other than recreate the sound of a swarm of flys
By: Essenji. on 09 Jan 09, 17:46:59
Good thing: it's not that loud...
By: bdemar2k. on 09 Jan 09, 17:34:27
You stupid kids need to stop trying to refute people's arguements. You've obviously never even taken basic high school chemistry or you would be aware that burning anything wastes the majority of the energy on heat rather than light. Candles arent even cost effective when compared to filaments so you're making yourself look ignorant. Moving on to bigger things is not the point of engineering, and this invention certainly has no utility purposes beyond recreation.
By: aDoreMi07. on 09 Jan 09, 17:22:58
fucking sound
By: VoidDragon00. on 09 Jan 09, 16:16:48
yea we should also use candles still over light bulbs they were invented ages ago and are also energy efficient. STFU your argument is fail, how will engineers ever move on to bigger things if they cant try all sorts of things, i myself can see lots of uses for these legs in the future.

By: hoptop77. on 09 Jan 09, 08:31:26
its like something out of metal gear
By: bdemar2k. on 09 Jan 09, 07:28:29
What a waste of money. I don't understand how a group of mechanical engineers could design something so energy inefficient. Use fucking wheels they were invented over 5 thousand years ago >.>

1: What gender would the reporter be? and 2: Would it matter? and 3: How would that even work? Its an f$&%ing robot! A ROBOT!
By: Kendallkip. on 09 Jan 09, 05:01:40
No, It would obiously rape, not maul, the reporter. Yep, It's that twisted -_-
By: nascarguy101. on 09 Jan 09, 03:10:14
the only way things like this could become dangerous is if ther start installing AI in them im guessing. then they can become self aware
By: Azaz0th. on 09 Jan 09, 03:04:06
It's unnerving and there's good reason. You know this thing is going to end up with a fuel cell or nuclear battery (to get rid of that noise) and some armaments. They'll run ground missions with these the same way they run aerial missions with Predator Drones.
By: superjeff14. on 09 Jan 09, 02:28:47
i know. it just reminds me of like... a misquito thats gonna kill us
By: eBirdMan60. on 09 Jan 09, 02:27:24
You can just imagine a movie of when it finally snaps and equips itself with chainsaws and machine guns and runs around the woods. "And here we are on the sight of the mysterious disappearance of 43-year-old Ja- wait, whats that noise?! GAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!" Then Big Dog comes in and kills the cameraman and starts mauling the reporter. The woods and forests of boston will never be safe again.
By: JohnRichard1991. on 09 Jan 09, 02:22:10
wow, that was cool ! the noise is bad, but I like how it didn't fall over.
By: eBirdMan60. on 09 Jan 09, 02:22:05
Now imagine it with chainsaws. and going twice as fast. With bullet proof armor on. and a navigation system. VRVVRVRVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVRVRVRVVRVRVRVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV!!!!!! CHSHWERRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! AAAAAAAAHHH!!! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!
By: lvecsey. on 09 Jan 09, 00:38:00
no because technology is not evil. 98% of work should be done by machines; you should be relaxing
By: Survi. on 08 Jan 09, 23:53:44
pffff...sponsored by DARPA...this is quite worrying...DARPA is responsible for all the technology available in the military...this "BIG DOG" is only a module of what they can achieve...think about the fact that there are people that combine all the technologies (gps dynamics, face recognition, ability to calculate each and every movement)..anywho...it's kinda frigtening really...
