Money only has as much value as money there is. If theres more money it's worth less. As such if government made money for itself we would all become poorer. Not to mention without Congress, the President holds total control over the court system, and that there are many issues still unresolved by law. For example in my state of Ohio schools are funded entirely by City taxes, which brings up an inequality of education conflict which our own State Congress is in contempt of court over.

The 16th Amendment did not establish an income tax. It merely made it immune from requirements that it be apportioned with regard to a census. The first income tax was levied in 1861, over 50 years before the 16th amendment was ratified. Regardless, the point is moot. Were it to be shown that an income tax was somehow never passed into law, then Congress would IMMEDIATELY pass such a law, and we'd be right where we are now. They do not go after you for failing to file a tax return, they go after you if you withheld more money than you were supposed to and when return time came around you still owed money and didn't pay. The majority of the people filing returns get just that, a RETURN on their money. I paid 7.4% of my total income (in the 6 figures) last year, but you don't see the IRS coming after me. People just blame the IRS for taking their money, but do not do anything to fix it. I did it legally.

anyone who does not file an income tax return is just stupid. What most people don't realize is that if you have a job as an employee taxes are automatically taken out of your paycheck before you get it. An income tax return means the IRS sends you what is left over. Not filing a return means the IRS keeps even more of your money. I think taxes are rediculous now, but why would I not want to get at least part of my money back? Some people are just stupid.

But due to the way in which the 16th amendment was "ratified", no pubic vote, or bill has ever defined wage as income. That's what tax protesters mean when they say "Show me the law". I got stuck at around 1:50. I can see households furnishing firms with labour and capital (via savings, stocks, bonds issued by firms) but cannot understand how households give firms land. Don't firms, like Microsoft et al buy their own land? They don't get it from Joe Householder, they get it from banks (don't they)?
