No, I'm sorry you're wrong. Innate talent also makes a person learn more quickly and achieve greatness at anything. Obviously you have to be interested in what your studying no matter what, or you won't do it! Likewise, you can be completely obsessed with something and not become amazing at it after a lifetime of practice. How else can you explain child prodigies? They didn't have to study and practice, they're just TALENTED.

I bought his four albums, and I'm really disappointed with the quality... the quality is so much better in these videos it makes me frustrated. The album version of ebon coast isn't anywhere near as good as this video version. It's frustrating.

See really the only difference between SergeantDago and Fretwalker671 is that Sergeant just expressed his opinion and love for Andy Mckee's music. Fretwalker felt he had to insult Sergeant to get his point across. There is nothing wrong with thinking talent is god given, just as there is nothing wrong with thinking it's not. But to deny that people have innate skills called talent and say its "muscle memory" or "5 years of studying" is just crazy. The talent is what makes the studying effective.

The #7 "Oregon Beach Inlet" was actually just off the north jetty of Newport, Oregon. Two men in an aluminum skiff capsized in the surf, and weren't wearing lifejackets. A tourist just happened to be out on the jetty with his video camera, and took that amazing footage of the two men being rescued. I was there on the jetty, as part of the CG crew...the helicopter dropped the man that they picked up off with us, and we delivered him to an ambulance. Everyone in the crew did a great job!

Probably a few reasons. They may have wanted to get the kids to EMS ASAP to treat for hypothermia. The cabin of the HH65C is pretty small. Limited space depending on how many crew and how much gear they brought. Lastly, depending on wind direction and speed, air temp and fuel load they may have had power concerns. The pilots, swimmer, and flight mech discuss it all before they begin the evolution and come up with the best plan for the current situation.

I have flown on many missions with the CG as a flight mechanic. You raise a good ?. The Dolphin is a small helicopter compared to others, but they should have been able to fit them inside. The only thing I can think of is they did not want to leave the kids unattended inside the helo. Regardless of the reason, I know the crew talked about the pros and cons of their decision beforehand.

I'm not going to make a comment about the coast guard vs. navy thing, but I do have to wonder this. The coast guard consists of some 40,000 members, that's it. Compared to the other services, it's minuscule. Now, by contrast, the navy has hundreds of thousands of members, trillions of dollars worth of naval equipment, and all they do is prepare to fight an enemy that isn't there (no country can compare to our navy) and fly sorties off of carriers.. Anyone else see the misstep here?

No irony at all. Look up the Posse Commetatus Act and you'll see that the USCG is the only military arm that can enforce U.S. law. It would be illegal for the Navy to do so. The USCG is primarily a law enforcement agency whose equally important duties include life-saving, environmental protection, vessel inspection, port security and a lot more. The USCG saved more than 33,000 lives during Hurricane Katrina. Simply, the RNLI only operates lifeboats; the USCG has much broader responsibilities.

Ironic then how the RNLI saves more lives per head then another other Life Guard organistion, and does it without mounting M60s on the side of their boats. The Navy is whats meant to sort out drug problems, or military action on the waves, Coast Guards save lives, don't take lives. The USN is big enough to have real patrol boats instead of arming coast Gaurds

Because... the scum drug smugglers and other bad guys have them, dummy. Ever heard of the War on Terrorism and 9/11 ? The USCG serves as a the maritime law enforcement arm of the U.S. and as part of the U.S. Navy in time of war. The USCG has saved more lives and property than any other organization in the world. I'm proud to have served in the USCG and would do it all again and, yes, we'd have risked our lives to pull even your sorry ass out of the water.
